Dance
Low Impact Afro-Caribbean & West African Groove - This class is geared towards students who are interested in learning traditional Afro-Caribbean & West African dances without having to break a sweat. Low Impact Afro-Caribbean Groove is taught at a slower pace that allows students to learn more of the details and nuances of dance forms such as Kpanlogo, Samba, Rumba, Yanvaloo, Lamban, Kaki Lambe, KuKu and Bomba. This is a great class for people who love Afro-Caribbean and West African music and dance and want to learn more. Songs that accompany the traditional dances will also be taught! All ages and experience levels are welcome. Some classes will be accompanied by live drumming with Aimee Gelinas. Wear comfy clothes.  

Afro-Caribbean Dance - The goal of this class is to infuse the participants with the joy of acknowledging the bounty of life through community dances. Some of the dances taught include Samba from Brazil. a joyous dance performed at the time of Carnival, Koy from Haiti, and West African dance.  This class is open to all levels of dancers from beginner to advanced.    

Bhangra - Bhangra dance is a contemporary exercise dance routine of traditional Indian folk dance from Punjab, India that is combined with exhilarating Bollywood moves (as in Slumdog Millionaire). It is a unique cardiovascular dance workout that's fun and suitable for participants of all ages and fitness levels. Balle! Balle!      

Hip Hop Jazz Funk - Move and groove to the slammin' sounds of Motown or rock to the sounds of the '60s. Find your inspiration to move in a variety of music and dance styles, including hip hop, jazz and funk.

Modern/Jazz - A fun and exuberant class that allows adults to really move through space with sensuality and grace using both Jazz and Modern Dance techniques.            

Shake Your Soul® - Shake Your Soul® is a moving experience where music inspires your spirit, dynamic movements free your body and entrancing rhythms call forth the power of your soul! Shake Your Soul® draws from modern and African dance, body-mind centering, yoga, qi gong and Body-Centered Expressive Therapy. All of these influences merge into a seamless whole that evokes spirited movement that’s healing for your physical and emotional heart.

Tango, for the Very Beginners - Learn the dance known for its beauty. Learn the steps that will prepare you for a typical milonga (tango dance party): Parallel and Cross Walk; Front and Back Ochos; the Cross and Giro.

Intermediate Tango - The focus for this class is on improving improvisational and technical skills while executing more complicated moves.

World Dance - Every 6 weeks, experience different styles of dance. We will begin with Belly Dance and then move to Bhangra and other styles like Jazz, African and/or Afro Cardio, Zumba, Salsa etc. The goal is to have fun...and get a great workout at the same time!

Zumba® fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy to follow moves to create a dynamic fitness program that will blow you away. The goal is simple: to work out, to love working out and to get hooked on Zumba® . Fanatics achieve long-term benefits while experiencing an absolute blast in one exhilarating hour of caloric-burning, body-energizing, awe-inspiring movements meant to engage and captivate for life. The routines feature interval training sessions where fast and slow rhythms, and resistance training are combined to tone and sculpt your body while burning fat. Add some Latin flavor and international zest into the mix and you've got Zumba®!   

Dance & Sculpt - an exhilarating  combination of belly dance,  salsa, African, bhangra, jazz, ballet barre exercises, sculpting and toning with weights, ending with pilates and yoga.

Yoga
Yoga 101 (Beginner) - This yoga class is designed to help you get the fundamentals of yoga following Anusara-inspired principles blended within an easy flow. You will learn how to align your body in different postures, how to deepen your breathing with pranayama breathing techniques and how to increase your overall flexibility and stamina while gaining a greater peace of mind. Open to those who have never done yoga or who want to deepen their practice through correct postural alignment.

Slow Flow Yoga (Beginner to Intermediate) - A vinyasa flow to awaken the body's energy. Discover how to build up energy though movement and allow it to flow slowly.

Advanced Beginner Yoga (Intermediate) - This class has been designed almost as a yoga 102 for the beginners who are ready to be challenged a little more. Still following the Anusara principles of yoga, the students are invited to go deeper in the postures and hold them for longer periods of time as well as trying more challenging postures.            

Kripalu Yoga (Vigorous) - Are you looking for more than just a physical challenge?  Would you like to build your muscles while sharpening your mind and opening your heart?  What if you could get it all in one practice? This vigorous yoga class will give you the full body workout you are looking for while simultaneously integrating mind, body and breath, allowing you to experience your true nature as a whole, healthy and happy human being. 

Mindful Vigorous Yoga - The pace of this class is intended to gently raise the heart rate and build a good sweat around moderate-to-intermediate postures followed by a spacious and deep relaxation. The purpose of this class is to cultivate awareness and kindness, in order to breathe deeply and revitalize body and mind.            

Power Vinyasa (intermediate/advanced) - This is a 60-minute class that demands your attention. It will bring together breath, movement, intention and relaxation. By unleashing your true power it will become effortless to thread your mind and body together as one.

Pre-Natal Yoga - The classes provide an opportunity for expectant women to develop body awareness and deepen their relationship with their baby. Gentle postures, breath work, visualization, vocal toning and meditation cultivate flexibility, calmness and confidence as you prepare for labor and childbirth. During the classes, women will be encouraged to access their capacity for deeper relaxation and comfort.            

Vinyasa Flow (Intermediate to Advanced) - In this flow class you will work from posture to posture in a powerful yogic dance. You will see threads of Kriya, Ashtanga, Hatha, and many yoga genres woven together. Previous yoga experience is recommended.            

Yoga for Cyclists and Runners (Intermediate to Advanced) - This class focuses on balancing the runner and cyclist's body: opening the hips, stretching the quadriceps, loosening up the hamstrings as well as strengthening the upper body and abdominal muscles. Basic breath techniques will be incorporated to increase mental focus and relax the mind to improve overall athletic performance.         

Rhythms School of Dance
Beginner Ballet ages 8-11 - This class will help student develop physical discipline, general body awareness and control, coordinating with elementary technique and terminology. Understanding the relationship between music, rhythm and controlled movement with proper ballet technique.    

Ballet 12+ Intermediate - New and more complex material will be taught at an appropriately accelerated pace. Students begin to learn basic ballet history and develop a knowledge and  appreciation for ballet and classical music. Students enjoy the challenge of learning center floor combinations that are created as performances pieces           

Modern Jazz for ages 9+ - Warm up includes Jazz isolations and across the floor work on turns, kicks and jumps. With an emphasis on musicality and creating an overall visual picture, the class culminates in choreographed combinations. There is an emphasis on proper body alignment and clean technique.

Hip Hop for ages 8-11 - These classes will explore the basics of popping, locking and break dancing. Students will learn foundational movements in the historical context of Hip Hop. Students focus on basic vocabulary, some movement combinations and individual choreography.

Hip Hop Ages ages 12+ - Students will use the fundamentals of Hip Hop to work on more complex movement combinations and will create their own choreography using personal music choices.        

Musical Theatre Dance ages 9+ - Students will explore essential jazz moves that form the basis of musical theatre choreography.

Yoga for Kids ages 4-8 - Children will be introduced to the basics of yoga postures and breath while maintaining their creativity through play and explorative movements.           

Yoga for Kids ages 8+ - Introduce your child to a natural and healthy way to exercise, relax, focus and strengthen the mind/body/spirit connection.

Mindful Fitness
Barre Workout and Yoga - 70 minute class that encompasses a standing pilates with weights for warm-up, contemporary barre workout to tone and strengthen legs and core, mat pilates for further toning of legs and core and deep yoga stretches to end. Come prepared to sweat, laugh and have fun as we strengthen and tone whole body! You choose: barefoot, socks with grip dots, ballet slippers or dance sneakers.

Cardio Kickbox and Sculpt - This class offers you a mixture of cardio kickboxing, sculpting and toning with weights, pilates and yoga.

Cycle & Sculpt - A great cardio, strengthening and stretching class! On the bike for 30 minutes of cardio and then off the bike for 30 minutes of sculpting with weights, bands and balls. A final core pilates workout will be followed by deeper yoga postures. You will leave feeling strong, supple and energized. View our guidelines for indoor cycling

Cycle & Stretch - 40 minutes of cycling (warm-up, flats & hills, cool down) and 20 minutes of yoga that will leave you energized and rested at the same time. View our guidelines for indoor cycling

Dance & Sculpt - an exhilarating  combination of belly dance,  salsa, African, bhangra, jazz, ballet barre exercises, sculpting and toning with weights, ending with pilates and yoga.

Kickboxing & Yoga - Join us for a 30 min cardio fitness kickboxing and 30 min. power yoga. This fun and dynamic class will have you feeling strong supple and heart happy.

Mindful Indoor Cycling - To the rhythm of your breath and music, get into gear and work yourself up and down the hills while finding peace inside. In some classes we will blend a yoga flow at the end for complete workout. Moderate to Vigorous. View our guidelines for indoor cycling

Healing Movement
Qi Gong - Qi gong combines breath, movement and intention to build your life force energy. This class will teach you simple yet powerful ancient Chinese exercise and meditation forms to revitalize your energy, relieve stress, enhance your immune system, hasten the body's natural healing process and increase your sense of well being. The class will energize and awaken a reservoir of inner energy that lives in your core with power and grace. Discover how moving this vital energy can create a peaceful and dynamic vitality in both the mind and body.   

Drumming
Hand Drumming - Learn hand drumming techniques through exercises, games and poly-rhythms. Build self-confidence and empowerment through group dynamics while exploring your own inner rhythms.
